For: Algae - Sand & Rocks
Picture is a sample only. Those received may look slightly different.
Often overlooked yet such an important part of our natural clean-up crew! Cerith snails spend most of their time cleaning the top grains of your sand bed in search of uneaten food or algae. They sleep in the top inch of your sand bed. This burrowing action helps to keep the sand bed moving and supple (needed for gas exchange). These are excellent for keeping the substrate clean of uneaten food, decaying matter, algae.....even cyano!
Recommended per tank:
1 per 2 gallons of tank
Example: 75g tank = 38 Ceriths
This is a "rule of thumb", not an exact science. You can add them all at once or add to your population as you can until you reach this approximate number. Over time they will naturally decrease in numbers. Try to keep 1/2 of the starting number in stock going forward.
Average size is 1.25 inch.
Pictures are examples only. Expect some variations.
