Service Center
To My Canadian Friends,
Though I have chosen not to ship into Canada or other countries (too much of a headache, cost & no delivery guarantee with FedEx), many of you are close enough to travel down to AquaCorals & make in-store purchases. There has been concern whether Canada allows the import of ornamental marine fish & inverts purchased here (or any location in the US). After much research and collaboration with other Canadian customers I have found the below Canadian government information which assures us your purchases from AquaCorals are fine to cross the border. To date, not one of my customers have had any problems getting their AquaCorals purchases through Canadian Customs. The below information should solidify this for any of you still concerned.
If you find ANY law, US or Canadian, that conflicts with this, please let me know! Things may have changed since I found the below info. As always, I want to be sure we all are compliant with US & Canadian laws. I hope this information assures you & know that I look forward to visiting with you, my Canadian friends. :c)
Note: If you live in Canada near any US border I've found many Canadian folk use a US store location to have packages ship to for pick up. You must be sure the store is willing to accept & hold your package for you to pick up the same day for live items. It would be your responsibility for picking up your package upon arrival.

Importation of Ornamental Fish
In general, importations of ornamental aquatic organisms, especially tropical species held in hobby aquaria, are considered to pose a negligible risk of spreading disease(s) to local species. Thus, Canada, like many other countries, does not require special permits for the importation of aquatic organisms for the aquarium hobbyist. There are, however, some exceptions related to other risks posed to aquatic resources and habitat.
All species listed by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) may only be imported if a CITES certificate is obtained. Please see http://www.cites.org for current listing of species and http://www.cites.ec.gc.ca for relevant contact information. Hobby species that are genetically modified may be considered as new substances and may require notification under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999). For more information on the New Substances program, please consult the Environment Canada site at http://www.ec.gc.ca/substances/nsb/eng/index_e.htm.
Note from AquaCorals: I have personally read the list of species listed on both CITES web sites & found NONE of what I offer or specifically the reef aquarium hobby normally offers to be a CITES listed species. Therefore ALL livestock purchased from AquaCorals is approved to enter into Canada.
Coral Trade-In credit can only be used towards the Regular Purchase Price of my TR Soft Corals.
At this time any corals you would like me to consider for trade must be submitted via e-mail with pics & description. My frag tanks are full with production at an all-time high! Only rare or corals I don't offer are being considered right now.

Again, e-mail me with pics & descriptions.

How To Make Qualifying Baby Corals...
Make Some $ & Support your Reef Addiction....Umm I mean Hobby. :0)
A wonderful result of a thriving reef tank is that your corals will GROW...right out of your tank if left unchecked. At some point you'll be forced to harvest some of that growth. Instead of throwing away what you cut, make babies & make $! Bring in your baby corals based on the guidelines listed below & buy anything you like in the store whether live or dry goods. :0) You'll also be helping to save a reef!
Rock bases must be at least 3 inches ALL corals. Do NOT use terrestrial or man-made/artificial rocks.
Mushroom rocks need 2+ polyps per rock & not glue dependent! Must be tissue attached.
Polyps such as Zoanthids & Cloves need a minimum of 5+ polyps per rock
Soft corals must be a minimum of 3+ inches (branching or matting species), fully tissue attached, binders removed & not glue dependent.
Corals with nuisance algae, macro algae &/or aptasia will not be accepted
Monies must be used at the time the corals are brought in.
The above guidelines have been established for the success of every hobbyist who buys our corals. Given the large amount of water flow inside our tanks, smaller rocks easily tumble. Corals not tissue attached will many times detach during shipping. Let's make those babies & show people what "Made In Maine" quality is all about! :c)
Rubble Rock: I have inexpensive rock that can be purchased then broken to make your own rubble to mount your cuttings on.
Got coral frags?...but don't want to take up the space or the time & hassle to mount? Bag them up, bring them in & receive $ for each! Note: ALL coral frags must be fully healed to be accepted.
For those looking to try their hand at propagating I offer free "How To" advice. :0)
Unmounted Coral Frags Available For Sale!
Unmounted coral frags are also available for purchase in-store! Colorful SPS, Mushrooms, Zoanthids, Polyps and more. Come in & check them out! :0)

Rest assured I only sell livestock deemed to be 100% healthy (without having a crystal ball ;c). If I have shipped to you and you need assistance, contact me at ** & I'll help in whatever way I can. I do not go away after a sale!>
Order Cancellations: If a customer cancels an order for any reason once an order is received there will be a $25 cancellation fee plus 4% of your order total which is the PayPal discount fee not refunded to me.

When Your Order Is Received:
I will e-mail you & confirm your order has been received & will alert you if any items in your order are no longer available for shipping (which rarely happens). It is your responsibility to watch your e-mail for communications from me as well as to make sure your e-mail accepts my messages (check your bulk or junk e-mail folders!).
Your shipping information will be e-mailed to you the day it ships.
NOTE: In the rare event my e-mail messages do not reach you (due to spam filtering, internet interruptions etc.) expect your order to ship as normal based on my ship schedule posted above.
Order Filling:
All orders are filled on a “first order received first ship” basis. Items ordered cannot & will not be held for any reason. My policy is if two thirds of your order is in stock, it will be shipped, although my fill rate is usually 100%. You will only be charged for the items actually sent & your shipping charge will be reduced to reflect it's ship weight if applicable. I do not backorder items.
How Your Order Is Packed:
All animals (fish, corals & inverts) are carefully collected & placed in special duty ship bags sized for their health, not how little water I can get by with. They are packed to travel comfortably & most often will arrive in less than 20 hours of being packed. My bags are filled with reef system water the animals were collected from & and pure oxygen is added to the fish bags before being closed. Heat or cold packs are used to maintain a healthy temperature as seasons dictate.
Order Add-Ons:
Do not submit a new order - just e-mail me the name(s) of the corals you want to add & the size desired> & I'll PayPal invoice you for the items & possibly a little more shipping if the ship weight is more than your original order. Typically I can update an order if I know by 10am the day the box is to ship but earlier is better because you must pay the PayPal invoice prior to it shipping.. If for any reason your PayPal invoice isn't paid by noon, the original order will ship without the add-on(s).
Order Cancellations:
If for any reason you cancel your order you will receive a refund via PayPal direct to your payment source minus 4% of your order total which is the Discount Fee PayPal charges me as well as a restocking fee of $25.
*Live Arrival Guarantee:
Live arrival is guaranteed! My fish, corals & inverts are the healthiest you can buy. They are inspected & predetermined healthy before being offered for sale. Upon packing your order I inspect each item again and only ship animals that I know are 100% ready to go!
Note: I'm not responsible for FedEx Service Failures or damages from shipping. I have no control over how they are handled once they leave my facility. Though this rarely happens, understand FedEx does not cover livestock damages/losses & they are NOT refunding any of their service failures.
*Credits: ANY credit or replacement offer I issue for ANY reason MUST be used within 30 days of being issued. NO cash refunds.
Never refuse a shipment! I do not require a signature for delivery so someone must be available to accept delivery. In the case of untimely arrivals or shipping damage, make note of any damages with the delivery person before they leave, accept the shipment & e-mail me at ** within 2 hours of receiving your shipment.>
NOTE: Your shipment must be acclimated within 2 hours of the box being delivered. You MUST acclimate as I describe on your sales slip & tank all items even though they may seem damaged! Many corals will close tight during shipping. Give them time to fully acclimate to your tank.
Dipping my corals is NOT recommended as it must be done precisely & can actually kill corals, especially fine tissue corals like Blue Anthelia, Orange Cloves, Pink Anthelia Polyps & more. Dipping voids any guarantee. You also need to understand dipping kills desirable organisms like Brittle Starfish & copepods which often hitchhike on my corals. Drip Acclimation voids any guarantee. If you are running a salinity of 1.025-1.026 with a temp of 78+/- 1 degree there's really not much to acclimate for & the slow process of drip acclimation just further stresses the corals. You MUST acclimate as I describe on your sales slip included in your box or you void any guarantee.
If you are concerned about the health of any of your animals (corals or fish etc.) you must e-mail or call me immediately - phone number is provided at the top of your sales slip. You MUST follow all of my recommendations & requests like pics etc) in order to receive credit if you still experience a loss.
For both Corals & Anemones: I need hi res with FULL day lights on clear pictures of both a full tank front pics AND the coral in your tank. These MUST be e-mailed to me within 2 hours of receiving your shipment & allow me to respond before removing the item from your tank! I am notified when FedEx delivers your box. Don't wait to contact me! I may be able to help if notified soon enough!
Again, if you do not follow my instructions here you void any possibility of credit.
Placing an order is an acceptance of these policies.
